CADDO MILLS — Sunnyvale lived up to its No. 7 state ranking with a 54-21 District 5-4A-II football victory over Caddo Mills on Friday.
Sunnyvale, which scored on eight of its 10 possessions, stayed undefeated for the season at 6-0 with the victory in the district opener.
The Foxes, who will host Dallas Roosevelt next Friday, fell to 4-2.
Sunnyvale rolled up 508 in total yardage as junior running back Obi Arinze led the Raider rushing attack with 125 yards on 14 carries.
Senior quarterback Tripp McAda went 5-of-11 passing for 126 yards and ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.
Eight different Raiders ran with the football. Big Devin Sterling, an NCAA Division I linebacker prospect, was used in short-yardage situations, rushing for 30 yards and five TDs on seven carries.
The Foxes finished with 155 total yards.
Savion Neal ran for 30 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
Caddo Mills quarterback Tyler Townley got loose for a 61-yard TD run, but was sacked eight times and finished with only 49 yards in 14 attempts. Townley passed for 133 yards on 15 of 20 attempts.
