Greenville’s Lady Lions completed a district soccer sweep over Kaufman by beating the Lady Lions 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Greenville scored its first goal eight minutes into the contest on an own-goal by a Kaufman defender who was trying to clear a shot by Casey Paul.

Monica Bratton scored the Lady Lions’ second goal on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Brooklyn Parker.

Greenville wound up outshooting Kaufman 16-9 as Lady Lions goalkeeper Katie Jones saved five shots.

“We played really well the second half,” said Greenville coach Catherine Just. “The first half we played okay. Just not super enough to do what was necessary.”

Greenville outshot Kaufman 16-9 to up its season record to 10-9 and district record to 5-4.
