Dallas Lakehill used a sizable height advantage to beat the Greenville Christian School Eagles 49-37 in district basketball on Thursday night in the Eagles Nest.

Four of the Warriors’ players are listed on the roster at 6-3 or taller while the Eagles don’t have a player in the lineup taller than 6 feet.

“The kids played with great hustle,” said GCS coach Dave Wombaker, whose Eagles dropped to 5-14 for the season.

GCS also was affected by an injury in the third quarter to Trey Turner, who led the Eagles with 15 points.

“We had our chances but did not take advantage of opportunities that came up,” said Wombaker.

Tyler Redington led the victors with 15 points and Andrew Simpson added 14.

GCS returns to action tonight at Dallas Academy.

Greenville Christian School’s No. 15 state-ranked Lady Eagles squared their district basketball record at 2-2 with a 60-24 pasting of Dallas Lakehill here Thursday night.

GCS rolled up leads of 18-2, 32-4 and 48-12 through the first three quarters.

Ashlee Draughn pumped in 16 points to spark the Lady Eagles, who also picked up 15 from Missy McDaniel.

GCS, now 12-5 for the season, plays again tonight at Dallas Academy.
