Ryan Sandoval

  Four players who helped Caddo Mills go 8-3 and reach the Class 4A state football playoffs have earned recognition on the Associated Press Sports Editors All-State Football Team.

  Senior defensive back Rian Sandoval made the first-team defense. Sandoval was in on 50 tackles, broke up 10 passes and intercepted seven passes for the Foxes, who finished second in District 5-4A-II to Sunnyvale.

  Caddo Mills junior quarterback Tyler Townley made the honorable mention list on offense. Townley passed for 2,448 yards and 24 touchdowns during the regular season, completing 148 of 220 attempts. He also ran for 733 yards and 14 TDs on 94 carries.

  Junior wide receiver Gavyn Beane made the honorable mention list on offense. Beane caught 45 passes for 722 yards and nine TDs.

  Senior linebacker Reese Payne made the honorable mention list on defense. Payne rang up 111 tackles, with eight tackles for losses. He forced three fumbles and recovered one fumble. Payne also earned all-state honors in 2018.

  The 2019 Texas Associated Press Sports Editors Class 4A all-state high school football team, released Tuesday. Voting based on regular-season performance. Players are listed in alphabetical order at each position.
