Shots fell fast and furious in the Trojans’ favor as Dallas Madison defeated Royse City, 68-44 on Tuesday night in a Region II-3A bi-district basketball playoff game at North Mesquite High School.

Trojan Deterrius Flentory took a steal all the way to the bucket to open the game and set the tone of the first period.

Madison held the Bulldogs scoreless until sophomore Chris Smith scored from the charity stripe with 2:54 left in the opening period.

Royse City made a run in the third period as freshman Kollin Padon found the bucket four times, including a 3-pointer, and sophomore Kirk Fleming helped out with a long two to shrink the Trojan advantage from 34-9 to 37-20.

The Bulldogs scored 10 points on free throws in the fourth.

"We made a real good run tonight," Royse City coach Greg Mills said. "We played well. Our shots weren't falling. Our young guys played well."

Senior Gary Freeman led the Bulldogs with 15 points including a trio of 3-pointers. Padon finished with 11 points and Fleming had eight.

Junior Amerrius Flentory led the Trojans with 23 points, while Chris Miller and Deterrius Flentory each scored nine.
