FERRIS — In their last non-district football game this season, the Caddo Mills Foxes pulled out a hard-fought 36-15 road victory over the Ferris Yellow Jackets on Friday.

  The Foxes forced four turnovers, including a 97-yard interception return for a touchdown by Angus Aldridge, to halt a surprisingly strong Ferris offense which powered around and through the Fox defense for 374 yards.   Tailback Jeremiah Harrison led Ferris with 169 yards rushing on 25 carries and was rarely brought down by only one Fox tackler.

  Caddo Mills goes to 4-1 on the season and opens District 5-4A-II play on Friday as they host Sunnyvale. Ferris dropped to 1-5.

  Caddo Mills also had to overcome 14 penalties for 147 yards.

  Fox running back Savion Neal dashed for 99 yards on 13 totes and two touchdowns.

  Caddo Mills quarterback Tyler Townley added 80 yards rushing on 10 carries. He passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns, going 14 of 25 with two interceptions.

  Gavyn Beane caught five passes for 97 yards for the Foxes.

  Kaland Dalton stopped the opening Yellow Jacket drive with an interception in the end zone for a touchback.

  The Foxes then went on a nine-play scoring drive finished off by a 5-yard Neal TD. Townley ran for the two-point conversion and the Foxes were up 8-0.

Austin Biggestaff halted the next Ferris drive with an interception at midfield which he returned 20 yards. However, four plays later the Yellow Jackets picked off a Fox pass to turn back Caddo Mills.

  The Foxes then stopped a Ferris drive on downs at the Fox 36 and scored in five plays. The big play in this drive was a Townley pass to Parker Higginbotham for 31 yards. Townley finished off with a 12-yard run at the 8:05 mark of the second quarter. Jonah Rupe was good on the PAT and the Foxes were up 15-0.

  The Yellow Jackets answered with a 10-yard TD run by Matthew Nunez. Victor Pablo added the PAT and Ferris had pulled back to 15-7 with 3:03 left in the half.

  Ferris then forced a three and out by the Fox offense. A short punt set Ferris up at the Fox 47. The Yellow Jackets moved to the Fox 1-yard line with only 12 seconds in the half. Fox defense back Aldridge picked a pass in the flat at the 3-yard line and returned it 97 yards for a touchdown as the clock ran out. Rupe’s PAT gave the Foxes a halftime lead of 22-7.

  After stopping another Ferris drive at the Fox 12, Caddo Mills then drove 88 yards in 12 plays to score on a 10-yard Townley pass to Higginbotham. Rupe’s PAT upped the Fox lead to 29-7.

  Rian Sandoval stopped a Ferris drive with an interception at the Fox 3-yard line.

  Linebacker Reese Payne also recovered a Ferris fumble at the Yellow Jacket 34. Townley then found Cayden Davis for a 34-yard TD and a lead of 36-7.

  Ferris added a late score and a two-point conversion.
