On Labor Day in 2001, Louise and I pulled our RV to Branson, Missouri. We were there for about a week.

Then we went north to St. Louis. We wanted to visit the Gateway Arch. We arrived on Sept. 10, and parked our RV in the downtown area of St. Louis.

On Sept. 11, we got up early, turned the television on just as airplanes were flown in to the World Trade Center. We soon learned why!

The Gateway Arch was closed for two days, but we did get to go up in the arch — what a sight. Then we went east and continued our journey to Kentucky but with heavy hearts.

Remember 9/11. I do. I was with my Louise!
