Two motorcycle riders hurt

Two motorcyclists were injured during a Saturday morning accident on Interstate 30 in Greenville.

Two motorcyclists were injured, but not seriously, during a Saturday morning accident on Interstate 30 in Greenville.

Sgt. Kyle Bradford with the Texas Department of Safety said the incident occurred at around 7:50 a.m. on the highway, eastbound, near the Business Highway 69/Moulton Streer overpass.

“It was a husband and wife,” Bradford said.

Reports from the Trooper investigating the crash indicated that the wife’s motorcycle may have hit a curb, which caused her to fall from the vehicle. The husband, who was riding just ahead, noticed what occurred and, in attempting to stop, also was thrown from his motorcycle.

The husband was transported by ground ambulance to the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, while the wife was flown by a Careflite helicopter to Medical City Plano.

“But neither had any life-threatening injuries,” Bradford said. “They are going to be okay.”

The crash forced the shutdown of the eastbound interstate for a time while the scene was investigated and clewed.

The names of the riders were not immediately released.
