A Hunt County man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a shooting death in Arlington in April.
The Arlington Police Department announced this morning that it has made an arrest in the murder of a security guard at a business on April 14. Simon Alejandro Flores Acevedo was taken into custody in coordination with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Taskforce.
Acevedo remained in custody Thursday morning at the jail, being held in lieu of $250,000 bond on a charge of murder, pending transfer to Tarrant County.
Jail records indicate Acevedo was arrested Wednesday morning at a residence on Countess Road in Quinlan.
“I can tell you that he is out of Quinlan, and he is being held on a murder warrant out of Arlington,” said Hunt County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Haines. “Other than that it is the Arlington Police Department’s case.”
The Arlington Police Department issued a statement indicating it had responded to a shooting call on Sunday, April 14 at around 11:45 p.m. in the 3200 block of E. Park Row Drive. When officers arrived, they located a man in his 40s laying in the parking lot of a business with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The deceased was an employee at the business.
