One person was arrested after crashing, following a reported high speed pursuit this morning of a stolen motorcycle in Hunt County.
Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office and additional agencies were involved in the chase.
As of 12:45 p.m., the DPS issued the following statement concerning the incident:
“At approximately 11:15 a.m. Highway Patrol Troopers attempted to stop a stolen 2008 Orange and Black Suzuki Motorcycle traveling south on County Road 2276 in Hunt County. Preliminary investigation indicates the operator of the Suzuki chose to evade Troopers and made multiple attempts to retrieve a handgun while traveling on several different county roads, streets, and FM roads in Hunt County. The operator of the motorcycle crashed at approximately 11:40 a.m. near the intersection of FM 2101 and SH 34. The motorcycle operator was arrested without incident and transported to Hunt Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injures. The investigation is on-going and no additional information is available at this time.”
