Veterans Day

A float in last weekend’s Hunt County Veterans Day Parade in downtown Greenville reminds the public to always remember those who served, especially during the Veterans Day holiday. A Veterans Day Parade is also scheduled Saturday in Sulphur Springs.

Veterans will continue to be saluted this weekend, as a Hunt County agency is sponsoring a parade in Sulphur Springs Saturday.

Many people will also enjoy a three-day holiday weekend, as government offices and some businesses will be closed Monday for the official observance of Veterans Day.

All federal, State of Texas, Hunt County and City of Greenville offices will be closed, as will most banks.

Community Seeds of Lone Oak is presenting the Veterans Day parade, which begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prim Stadium in Sulphur Springs. The parade will continue on Houston Street, cross Church, to Jefferson to Gilmer Street and then finish at the Brookshire’s Food Store.

The Community Seeds of Lone Oak is a faith based nonprofit ministry serving the poor and underserved residents of Hunt, Rains, and Hopkins counties. Additional information is available by calling 903-634-5673, by email at or at the web site at
