Restaurant closes

A popular downtown Greenville business unexpectedly closed Monday.

UPDATE: Shannon Kaye Harris announced on Facebook this morning that the Corner Street Pub will reopen next week:

After much thought, consultation and prayer....we will re-open Monday July 29th!

As many of you know; I have a second job that has required a lot of my time away from the Pub. I will continue to run Magnolia rentals, but will not offer consultations or large scale catering for now.

All the best things about the Pub will remain the same; however, there are areas we will be improving!

Last, but not least - you will all be seeing me ALOT more!

A HUGE thank you to all Pub supporters!

- Shannon

Original post: A popular downtown Greenville business unexpectedly closed Monday.

The Corner Street Pub announced the closure of the restaurant/club at 2702 Lee Street by posting a “Closed” sign on the businesses Facebook page Monday afternoon. The owners of the establishment could not be reached for additional comment Monday evening.

The Corner Street Pub opened in December, 2013, replacing what had been the Blue Armadilo Winery, which closed at the end of July of that year.

The Pub had hosted multiple events during the past few years, including the Hunt County Tax Office Ride for the Cure earlier this month and the first All Pats Day in March.

The two-story structure was built in 1940 and had been listed as being for sale since May, with a current asking price of $1.2 million.
