A local man was arrested Monday afternoon on charges alleging armed robbery and drug possession.
Johnathan Steven Gonzalez, 20, of Greenville was being held in the Hunt County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon in lieu of a total of $54,000 bond on one count each of aggravatedrobbery and possession of a controlled substance, less than 28 grams.
Jail records indicate Gonzalez was taken into custody on multiple warrants in the 4100 block of Stonewall Street in Greenville.
Greenville Police Lt. Adam Phillips said the aggravated robbery arrest was for an alleged probation violations on three counts of aggravated robbery from Collin County.
Aggravated robbery is a first degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of five to 99 years to life in prison.
The possession charge was listed as a Class A misdemeanor and was from Hunt County.
It was not immediately known whether Gonzalez had an attorney to represent him on the charge, or whether he intended to seek the appointment a defense counsel.
