It has taken a little longer than expected, but a new restaurant is preparing to open in what had been a vacant building along the courthouse square in downtown Greenville.
Hiring will begin this weekend for Mac’s American Grille at 2501 Johnson Street, inside the former Killian’s Home Furnishings building at the corner of Johnson and Lee streets.
The business is accepting open applications and conducting interviews between 2 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 21.
Interviews will be conducted for potential candidates for all positions, including serving staff, kitchen staff, hostesses, bartending and assistant managers.
Application forms will also be available at the time of the interview sessions.
Arlin McCroskie is behind the restaurant and renovations to the property began in the summer of 2017.
Killian’s closed several years ago, after having previously taken over the property which had been the Collins-Hilton Furniture store.
Original plans called for a wood-fired grill, with steaks, to be open for lunch and dinner.
Final construction on the restaurant was still in progress this week, although the owners say they plan to be open very soon.
