Volunteers filled the median along the Audie Murphy Overpass in downtown Greenville Friday evening with hundreds of crosses and United States flags.
Tim and Aletha Kruse of Greenville conducted the annual Greenville Flags project and had some help with the effort, which was postponed from last weekend due to rain and was scheduled Friday to help avoid the potential for thunderstorms today.
The crosses represent every Hunt County resident killed during World War I, World II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, who were identified with assistance from the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum.
The installation is conducted in preparation for the Memorial Day to Independence Day stretch.
A Go Fund Me Page seeks financial assistance for the installation.
