Young artists in the Greenville area have an opportunity later to put their work on display later this month, and maybe earn a financial reward in the bargain.
Erica Painter with the Forbidden Gallery in downtown Greenville is hosting the inaugural Junior Artists Show on July 20.
“It is open to ages 6 to 17,” Painter said.
The show will be at the Ashen Rose between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Each of the submitted pieces will have an opportunity for fans and patrons to drop in a cash contribution, or any amount, in support of the artist and their work.
“The kids get to go home with the money they received,” Painter said.
At the end of the show, the pieces receiving the most in donations will move on to be a part of a display at the Texan Theater starting July 21.
“There will be a big opening event for the artists and their families,” Painter said.
Entries to the event are due by 5 p.m. July 10.
Painter said there is still time to enter by contacting her by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
