The Hunt County Democratic Party is hosting a meet and greet forum in Commerce tonight, featuring candidates in county, state and national races on the November 6 general election ballot.
The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Ben E. Keith Community Room, 2248 Live Oak Street in Commerce.
Candidates scheduled to appear include Michele Petty, candidate for Texas Supreme Court Justice; Tonya Holt and Dan Wood, who are seeking seats on the 5th Court of Appeals; Frank Supercinski, candidate for the 6th Court of Appeals; Dale Henry, running for the Texas Railroad Commission; VaLinda Hathcox, who is in the race for the U.S. House of Representatives District 4; Jerry Minter, candidate for Hunt County Commissioner's Court Precinct 1; Glenn Stone, candidate for Hunt County Constable Precinct 1; and Wayne "Doc" Pierce, in the race for Hunt County Constable Precinct 2.
September 7 is the first day to apply for a ballot by mail and October 9 is the final day to register to vote in the election.
Early voting for the election is scheduled between October 22 and November 2.
