Carnival Eats

The Dos Gringos Locos food truck at the Hunt County Fair was among the concessions taped in April for an episode of Carnival Eats on the Cooking Channel which is scheduled to appear Sunday.

The food offered at this year’s Hunt County Fair will be featured this weekend on an episode of Carnival Eats on the Cooking Channel cable television network.

The episode titled “Toastbusters” which features the Hunt County Fair and Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival is scheduled at 8 p.m. local time Sunday.

Hunt County Fair Concessions Manager Beka Medders said Carnival Eats program had repeatedly wanted to cover the fair’s food vendors until a film crew and host Noah Cappe came out to the event in April and spoke with several entries and fair-goers.”

Carnival Eats investigated the Blue Bacon Cheesecake offered by Fry Dat’s Derrick Shaw, a firefighter out of Murphy; the BBQ Bomb from Lost Creek Catering’s Kyle Harrison of West Tawakoni; and both the French Toast Crunch-Burger and Tex-I-Cone created by Chris Smith with Dos Gringo Locos in Commerce.
