Multiple locations in Hunt County are expected to be without power for a short time later this week.
Farmers Electric Cooperative in Greenville announced Monday afternoon it was intending to conduct a planned maintenance outage starting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The utility said the work is expected to take two hours to complete.
The areas to be affected Thursday include the region south of Greenville along U.S. Highway 69 to the northern edge of Lake Tawakoni, east to just outside of Lone Oak and west along FM 1564 just west of the Club Lake area.
A second outage is planned east of Quinlan along the East Quinlan Parkway and including West Tawakoni.
A statement on the FEC Facebook page said, “Planned maintenance outages are sometimes necessary when we make improvements to the power system in your neighborhood. Most of the time, we can do this with no impact to you. But occasionally, we need to shut off your power so our crews can work safely. We know being without power is inconvenient, and we are committed to keeping you and our employees safe. We’ll turn the lights back on as soon as we can.”
