Going for a whirl

Eli Wimberly, Tyler Polk and Owen Weaver took a spin this week on the Tilt-A-Whirl ride on the midway at the Hunt County Fair, which continues through Sunday.

Veterans and emergency workers can get a break tonight on admission to the 47th Annual Hunt County Fair, while friends can get a deal on midway ride arm bands.

Military personnel and first responders can get in for half-price, $4, with their ID. It is also Buddy Day, with two arm bands which offer unlimited rides on the midway for $40.

The gates, midway and exhibit buildings open at 5 p.m., with Kids Crafts Available in the Creative Arts Building at 6 p.m. today.

The Breeding Swine Show is set for 6:30 p.m., followed by the Jr. Market Swine Show.

Sam Riggs performs at 7:30 p.m. and Mike Ryan takes the stage at 9:30 p.m.

Daily admission to the Fair is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6-12.
