Update 8:50 p.m. Identity of one crash victim released

GREENVILLE — The identity of one of two victims ot a firery head-on collision near the Hunt/kaufman County line has been released.

A portion of State Highway 34 between Quinlan and Terrell remains closed as the initial investigation into the accident concludes, although the Texas Department of Public Safety indicates it should reopen a little after 9 p.m.

Ashtyn Clark, 21, of Crowley was reported to have been driving a 2013 Ford Focus at around 4:30 p.m. when the vehicle struck a 1997 Ford Explorer, driven by a Quinlan man whose identity has not yet been confirmed by the DPS.

DPS spokesman Kyle Braford said it was still unclear which vehicle crossed into which lane and caused the collision. Both vehicles were completely destroyed in the fire.
