One hospitalized following accident

GREENVILLE — A local woman was transported to a Dallas hospital Sunday evening, following a one vehicle traffic accident and fire.

Angela Bagby, 43, of Greenville, was taken by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital. Her condition was unavailable as of Monday morning.

The Greenville Police Department reported Bagby was driving a Toyota four-door sedan northbound in the 1900 block of Joe Ramsey Boulevard at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday when for an as yet undetermined reason the vehicle veered over into the southbound lanes and then entered a ditch, where it struck a concrete culvert and flipped.

Bagby was reported to have been ejected from the vehicle and was found approximately 45 feet away.

A small fire was started by the accident, but was quickly extinguished by the Greenville Fire Rescue Department.

Joe Ramsey Boulevard was shut down at the location for approximately 45 minutes Sunday evening to allow for the helicopter to land and to investigate and clean up after the accident.
