An agency which comes to the aid of the youngest victims of sexual abuse is offering an artistic opportunity for its supporters this week.
Painting with a Twist in Greenville is hosting “Painting With A Purpose”, a benefit fundraiser for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Hunt County. Participants can learn to paint a field of bluebonnets, with a portion of the $35 fee going to CASA.
Sheridan Keglovits is the instructor for the event, scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Painting With A Twist, 7215 Interstate 30 East, Suite D in the Greenville Commons shopping center near Home Depot.
To reserve a spot, or for more information, interested persons can visit the event’s web site at www.paintingwithatwist.com/events/viewevent.aspx?eventID=200066, or can call 903-454-7928.
CASA volunteers are appointed by judges in district courts who are hearing cases regarding allegations of child abuse and neglect.
The appointees are assigned to meet and visit with the children and to act on their behalf when it comes time for the cases to go to court. CASA was established in Hunt County in 2000 and is one of more than 900 such agencies across the United States.
Those seeking additional information can contact CASA at 903-450-4410 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
