GREENVILLE — The Greenville City Council intends Tuesday to confirm Place 3 Council member Jeff Dailey has been re-elected.

The council is scheduled to cancel the May 10 election for Place 3 and to declare Dailey the winner of the seat. The vote is included under Tuesday’s regular agenda, starting at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. A work session is also set for 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Dailey was unopposed in seeking another term in the May 10 municipal election and therefore will be declared the winner Tuesday, but will not be officially sworn in until the first council meeting following the election on May 13.

There will be a Greenville City Council election on May 10, as Holly Gotcher and Ramona B. Tiscareno filed for the Place 4 seat.

Mayor Pro-Tem Velma Del Bosque-Hobdy serves in Place 4 and chose not seek re-election to the council.

April 10 is the final day to register to vote for the election.

Early voting is scheduled between April 28 and May 6.
