Chance of severe weather tonight through Tuesday

GREENVILLE — It is going to be windy this afternoon, with a chance of severe weather in the area by this evening.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for a high near 90 today, with south winds out of the south gusting as high as 30 mph.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, and some of the storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds the primary threats and a low around 71.

There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night. Some of the storms could again be severe, with a high near 84 and a low near 64.
