Showers and thunderstorms likely this afternoon

GREENVILLE — We could see some much needed rain this afternoon, as the National Weather Service forecast is calling for a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 76. Winds will be out of the south with gusts as high as 25 mph.

There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low around 63 tonight and a 30 percent chance of rain Thursday morning with a high near 80.

At this time, no severe weather is expected with the passage of the storms this afternoon or overnight.
