Alicia Moore remembered Thursday

GREENVILLE — Friends and family members of Alicia Moore gathered Thursday evening to remember the local teenager, on the six-month anniversary of the day she disappeared from the intersection of Walnut and Bourland Streets in Greenville.

She was found murdered four days later. The case remains unsolved.

Jessica Byrd, Moore’s aunt, again asked for the public’s help in finding the killer.

“It was a Friday afternoon and it was broad daylight,” Byrd said of Nov. 2, 2012, the day Moore went missing a short distance from her home. “It was 3:30 p.m. and this is a busy street.”

Byrd said a reward of up to $25,000 remains active in the case.

“Somebody knows something,” Byrd said.

Police Chief Daniel Busken attended the ceremony. When asked, Busken reiterated the investigation into Moore’s death remains active and also requested anyone with information to come forward.

Moore, 16, was last seen getting off of a school bus at the intersection, where a memorial remains in her honor. Her body was found on Nov. 16, 2012 along FM 47 in Van Zandt County. The Greenville Police Department joined with multiple other agencies in conducting a homicide investigation, but no arrests have been made and no suspects identified in the case.

Anyone with information concerning the case is being asked to contact Hunt County Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929.

Byrd also asked that anyone who may have information contact the Texas Rangers at 903-675-7286.
