Portion of State Highway 276 to receive facelift

GREENVILLE — A major highway in southern Hunt County is about to receive a facelift.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced it awarded a $987,632.03 contract to Peachtree Construction for the resurfacing of a portion of State Highway 276 near Quinlan.

The project is scheduled to involve milling the existing pavement and then placing a hot mix overlay from 0.35 miles East of FM 36 to State Highway 34. Peachtree Construction has been given 59 days to complete the project.

The company is set to begin setting barricades and start the work on September 30. The anticipated completion is the end of October.

TxDOT officials are asking the traveling public to observe signs, flaggers and to be aware of lane closers in the construction zone.
