GREENVILLE — In response to the inordinately large amount of debris left in the wake of last weekend’s arctic storm, Progressive Waste Solutions will be doubling the amount of brush loads they collect each week to aid homeowners.

Beginning next Monday, December 16, 2013, Progressive trucks will collect one four cubic yard of unbundled brush at curbside with each trash collection for the next two weeks.  A four cubic yard bundle is approximately 4’ x 4’ x 6’ and no single piece should weigh more than 40 lbs. Brush piles should be placed neatly on the curb next to the trash cart. Brush piles larger than four cubic yards will not be collected as part of the brush collection. Homeowners are welcome to contact Progressive at 903-450-8282 for an estimate on piles larger than four cubic yards.

After the two-week period is over, Progressive will return to their normal schedule of picking up a single four cubic yard brush pile per week, during the second trash collection of the week for each neighborhood.

Residents are welcome to haul their limbs to disposal sites, such as area landfills, if they do not wish to wait for the trash collections. Duncan Disposal Maloy Landfill in Campbell is the site closest to Greenville and can be reached at 903-886-7832.
