Cold front expected to bring wind, rain, 30-degree dip in temperatures

GREENVILLE — It will continue to feel like spring outside for one more day, before winter makes yet another late intrusion tomorrow.

A powerful cold front is expected to bring high winds,a chance of rain and a 30-degree swing in high temperatures between today and Thursday.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for a high near 81 today, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Thursday and a low around 56.

The winds will shift out of the north Thursday morning and temperature will continue to drop to around 50 by 5 p.m., with a 40 percent chance of precipitation. Winds are expected to gusdt out of the north as high as 35 mph.

There is a slight chance of rain Thursday night, with a low dropping down to around 38, and winds continuing to gust out of the north as high as 35 mph.

Friday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 60 and north wind gusts as high as 30 mph.
