The Greenville City Council intends Tuesday to add two names to the Board of Development.
The council also plans to name the next chairman of the panel during Tuesday’s regular session, starting at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. A work session is also scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The City Charter states the Council is responsible for the appointment of the Board of Development, and the terms of three board members are scheduled to expire this month.
Larry Green Jr. in Place 1, who also currently serves as the board’s chair, and Roslyn Lane in Place 3 have reached their term limits and therefore are unble to continue to serve on the board. Mike Kubacek in Place 2 is eligible to serve a second term.
The council Sub-Committee of Economic Development interviewed four applicants last month. The sub-committee is recommending the council reappoint Kubacak to Place 2 on the board, appoint Randall E. “Randy” Tarpley to Place 1 and Holly Gray to Place 3, and name Place 4 board member Warren Weeks as Chairman on the Greenville Board of Development.
