Tickets still available for Asleep at the Wheel

GREENVILLE — Tickets are still available for next week’s concert by Asleep at the Wheel and Mandy Barnett: Bob Wills Meets Patsy Cline.

The performance is scheduled Friday as part of the Kenneth Threadgill Concert Series.

Since starting in 1970, Austin-based Asleep at the Wheel has released more than 20 studio albums and won more than nine Grammys, playing songs like “Choo Choo Ch’Boogie”, “House of Blue Lights” and “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read.”

Barnett, a native of Crossville, Tenn., has been singing since 5 years-old. Her album, “I’ve Got A Right To Cry’ was named as the top country album of 1999 by Rolling Stone Magazine.

She tours regularly and her songs have been featured on the soundtracks of several movies and television shows. Her latest album, “Sweet Dreams”, features Barnett’s renditions of songs recorded by Patsy Cline.

The concert will also feature special guest Heybale!, with reserved floor level seat tickets on sale $35 to $50.

Reserved balcony seats are $30 in advance. Tickets are $5 more purchased on the day of the show and at the door.
