Herald-Banner seeking veterans' stories

The Memorial Day holiday is three weeks away, and the Herald-Banner is wanting to help remember and honor those who served our country.

The newspaper is wanting to publish a special section, “War & Remembrance”, which will offer war stories from Hunt County veterans, on Saturday, May 25. Stories of United States veterans who served in World War I through the wars in Vietnam, Bosnia, Granada, Iraq and Afghanistan are welcomed. The stories should be 1,000 words or less and can be mailed to Rita Haldeman, Herald-Banner Publications, 2305 King Street, Greenville, Tx. 75402. Or they can be emailed to addirecor@heraldbanner.com.

The section will also include a page dedicated to personal messages from area residents, honoring veterans.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, May 13.  Those wanting additional information can call the paper at 903-455-4220.
