— During a luncheon meeting scheduled later this month, area business and government leaders will get an idea of what Texas lawmakers may be up to in Austin.

The Hunt County Alliance for Economic Development is set to meet at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the New Life Church at Covenant Ranch, 3636 Farm Road  36 South in Caddo Mills.

Guest speaker for the event will be Carlton Schwab, president and CEO of the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC).

Schwab will present the program on “Hot Topics of the 83rd Legislative Session of the State of Texas.” The Legislature convened Jan. 8 for its current session.

The TEDC is an Austin-based, statewide, non-profit professional association dedicated to the development of economic and employment opportunities in Texas.

Baker’s Rib will be catering the lunch, which will cost $12 per person, payable at the door.

Those interested in attending the luncheon are asked to RSVP by Jan. 25 by calling 903-455-9885.
