Slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon

GREENVILLE — The National Weather Service forecast is calling for another slight chance of thunderstorms in the area this afternoon.

The storms are expected to be strong — with gusty winds, frequent lightning and small hail possible — but are not likely to become severe.

As of 1:40 p.m., a cluster of thunderstorms was northwest of the DFW Metroplex, moving south southeast.

No severe weather watches or warnings are currently active across the Northeast Texas area.
