Today’s schedule at the Hunt County Fair is the busiest yet, filled with livestock, shop project and horticultural shows and wrapping up with salsa and a shot of Whiskey for the live musical entertainment.
With the theme of “Building New Traditions”, the 2013 Hunt County Fair and Livestock Show is being presented by Innovation First.
Heifers for the Junior Open and County Shows are due in place by 9 a.m., with the County Lambs, Market Steers and Junior County Heifer weigh-ins between 9 and 11 a.m. today.
Shop projects are due in place at noon, the same time as the Hunt County only Junior Heifer Show begins. The Horticulture Contest starts at 1 p.m. and the Shop Project/Restoration Show, sponsored by RE/MAX Heritage in Royse City, starting at 4 p.m.
The gates, exhibits and midway open at 5 p.m., and Jonathan Jeter takes the stage at the Bud Light Entertainment Center at 6 p.m.
The Salsa Contest starts at 6:30 p.m., the same time as the Junior Market Lamb Show, sponsored by RCO Tractors, begins.
Whiskey Myers performs live starting at 8:30 p.m. at the Bud Light Entertainment Center stage.
The 2013 Hunt County Fair and Livestock Show continues through Saturday.
Admission to the Fair is $8 for adults and $2 for kids.
