Area voters will have multiple chances to meet the candidates running in the upcoming political party primaries, before the start of early voting for the March 4 elections.
Political forums and rallies are scheduled this evening in Lone Oak, Monday night in Greenville and on February 15 in Caddo Mills.
— A political rally is scheduled starting at 5 p.m. today at the Lone Oak Civic Center. Stew, beans, corn bread, desserts, coffee and tea will be served between 5 and 6 p.m., when the candidates will begin speaking. Donations will be accepted. Those wanting more information can call 903-662-0902.
— The Herald-Banner, in cooperation with the Hunt County GOP Club, is sponsoring a political forum starting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Landmark on Lee Street, 2920 Lee Street in Greenville.
Herald-Banner editor Caleb Slinkard will moderate the forum, which is expected to include the candidates for U.S. House of Representatives, which on the Republican side includes the incumbent, Ralph Hall, as well as Lou Gigliotti, John Stacy, Brent Lawson, and John Ratcliffe.
The forum is also inviting the Republican candidates for State Senate District 2, which includes the incumbent, Bob Deuell, along with Mark Thompson and Bob Hall.
The forum will also include the GOP candidates in the race for 196th District Court, the incumbent Steve Tittle and the challenger Andrew Bench.
— The Caddo Mills Historical Society in downtown Caddo Mills is hosting a political forum starting at 7 p.m. Feb. 15, which is expected to include the candidates for Hunt County Judge, including the incumbent John Horn and challenger Jerry Minter; 196th District Court; and Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 2, which includes Todd McMahan and Andy Hunt.
Early voting is scheduled Feb. 18-28.
