Chance of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight

GREENVILLE — Although areas in Central Texas are under the most risk from severe weather, a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service indicated that all of North Texas is under a slight theat for severe storms this afternoon and evening, with the potential for large hail and damaging winds. There are no severe weather watches issued for Hunt County or the surrounding area at this time.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, mainly after 1 p.m.,with a high near 79.

There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, with a low around 62.
