Even colder tonight

GREENVILLE — After an unseasonably chilly low overnight, Greenville is looking at the possibly of an even colder low temperature by early Saturday.

The low at Majors Field Municipal Airport in Greenville dipped to 41 degrees Thursday morning. The low at DFW Airport dropped to 39 degrees Thursday, breaking the dates previous record low for Dallas of 41 degrees set in 1954.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for a low of 36 degrees overnight tonight and north northwest winds gusting as high as 20 mph.

It is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 65 Saturday afternoon and west southwest winds becoming northwest and gusting as high as 25 mph.

The forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies and a low around 43 Saturday night.
