New offices dedicated at wastewater facility

GREENVILLE — One year after dedicating the City of Greenville Wastewater Reclamation Center, city officials gathered Friday to dedicate the opening of the facility’s new administration building.

Public Works Director Massoud Ebrahim said the 4,400 square foot building, which cost $950,000, brought all of the various offices which had been scattered throughout the plant’s grounds under one roof, helping smooth operations.

“We appreciate the leadership of the City Council, who decided to go with this project,” Ebrahim said.

The Council awarded the bid for the facility in May of last year.

The building also includes laboratories utilizing advanced automated technology crucial to the operation of the plant.

“It is automated and state of the art,” Ebrahim said. “This is a significant tool which can be used to attract economic development for the City of Greenville.”

“It is a foundation for economic development,” added Greenville Board of Development President and CEO Greg Sims.

Friday’s event included a ceremonial ribbon cutting and a tour of the facility.
