Tickets on sale for Ronnie Milsap concert

GREENVILLE — Tickets are on sale for the next big country music concert coming next month to the Greenville Municipal Auditorium (GMA).

The GMA and the United Way of Hunt County have announced the performance of Ronnie Milsap, featuring Amber Digby, is scheduled for August 23.

One of country music’s most popular and influential performers of the 1970s and 1980s, some of Milsap’s biggest hits include “It Was Almost Like a Song,” “Smoky Mountain Rain,” “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me,” “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World,” “Any Day Now,” and “Stranger in My House,” and more. Milsap has earned six Grammy Awards and 40 number one country hits, third to George Strait and Conway Twitty.

Digby, born and raised in Nashville, the birthplace of country music, comes from a long line of classic country music  royalty.

Amber’s father is Dennis Digby, longtime bass player in the Coal Miners, Loretta Lynn’s road band. Amber’s mother, Dee, was a backup singer for artists such as Connie Smith. In December, 2009, she released her 4th CD, “Another Way to Live”, with Heart of Texas Records.

Ticket prices range from $40 to $75 and can be purchased online at www.ShowtimeAtTheGMA.com and at the GMA, 2821 Washington Street in Greenville.

Those wanting additional information for the show can also call 903-457-2994.
