Grand jury returns indictments

GREENVILLE — A Quinlan man has been indicted for allegedly stealing a lot of copper wire in July, and a Greenville man has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with an alleged incident in June.

The indictments against Timothy Alan Taylor and Boyd Wayne Stogner were among the 67 indictments issued Friday by the current session of the Hunt County grand jury. A total of 18 of the charges were issued sealed, pending the arrest and arraignment of the person or persons named in the indictments.

— Taylor received two indictments for theft of copper wire of the value of less than $20,000. Taylor, 24, of Quinlan, was alleged to have been one of two people who participated in the theft of copper wire on July 7 and again on July 9. The status of the charges, if any, against the second suspect named in the indictments was unknown as of the end of last week.

— Boyd Wayne Stogner, 50, of Greenville, received one indictment for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Stogner was alleged in the indictment to have used a knife to threaten a male victim on June 1.

Arraignment dates on the charges were not immediately scheduled.
