UPDATE: Building open beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday

A&M-Commerce science building shut down due to chemical spill

GREENVILLE — UPDATE: The McFarland Science Building will resume normal operations at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Room 227 will remain closed

The Keith D. McFarland Science Building on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus has been shut down until further notice for precautionary reasons due to a chemical spill.

While access to the building is restricted, individuals who need emergency access must talk with emergency personnel on the west side of the building, according to University Police Department Lt. Jason Bone. No injuries have been reported, and the name of the chemical spilled has yet to be released.
