GREENVILLE — A survey team from the National Weather Service has indicated that a EF 0 tornado struck Princeton in Collin County Thursday. The assessments for Hunt County had not been released as of 1:10 p.m. today.
...PRELIMINARY DAMAGE SURVEY INFORMATION FOR COLLIN COUNTY... A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY TEAM FOUND EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY A TORNADO IN COLLIN COUNTY NEAR PRINCETON TEXAS. A TORNADO OCCURRED IN PRINCETON DURING THE EVENING OF APRIL 3 2014. DAMAGE WAS FOUND IN SEVERAL RESIDENTIAL AREAS BETWEEN HIGHWAY 380 AND COUNTY ROAD 407 WEST OF THE CENTER OF PRINCETON. SOME OF THE STRUCTURES IN THE DAMAGE PATH SUSTAINED ROOF DAMAGE WITH LOSS OF SHINGLES AND ROOF DECKING. PATH LENGTH 1.2 MILES PATH WIDTH 40 YARDS PRELIMINARY RATING EF0 ESTIMATED MAXIMUM WINDS 85 MPH THIS INFORMATION IS PRELIMINARY AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE AFTER ADDITIONAL REPORTS ARE RECEIVED AND PROCESSED.
