The Greenville Police Department is set to join forces with a federal agency cracking down on illegal narcotics activity in North Texas.
The Greenville City Council is scheduled Tuesday to enter into a Memorandum Of Understanding with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force. The vote is included under Tuesday’s regular session agenda, starting at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. A work session is set for 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Greenville Police Chief Dan Busken said one local investigator will be assigned to the task force. The DEA will reimburse the Greenville Police Department for overtime costs and the DEA will also provide a vehicle and fuel for the investigator assigned to the position.
