Online city auction starting today

GREENVILLE — The City of Greenville is selling off dozens of items of used vehicles and equipment, in an online auction scheduled to start today.

Bargain hunters can find anything from a used police cruiser to old tools, tractors and lawn mowers. A total of 91 items are up for bid under the auction, which is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. today and continue through July 9 at www.auctioneerexpress.com.

Among the merchandise being sold is a used Dodge Charger which once was part of the Greenville Police Department fleet of vehicles.

The automobile is reported to be running and includes police decals. If the winning bidder is not a law enforcement agency, the vehicle will have to be towed from the premises.

There is used Ford Crown Victoria, also with police decals, among the other vehicles to be sold, which also include several pickup trucks, two Chevrolet Trail Blazers, a Cadillac, a Chevrolet Cavalier and more.

Other items include computers, digital cameras and camcorders.

The items up for bid will be available for inspection by appointment only between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, July 1, July 2 and July 8. Appointments can be arranged by calling Chris McAllister at 903-457-3174.
