Guilty plea issued in armed robbery case

GREENVILLE — One of two Commerce residents, indicted on armed robbery charges in connection with a reported hold-up in May of last year, has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty.

Stephanie Leanne Flynn and Isaiah Hearn each received one indictment from the Hunt County grand jury March 22 for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Flynn, 22, and Hearn, 23, were alleged in the indictments to have used a pistol to threaten a male victim on May 6, 2012.

Hearn pleaded guilty to the charge Wednesday, during a hearing in the 196th District Court. Under a plea bargain arrangement, Hearn was sentenced to seven years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division. As a deadly weapon was found to have been used in the commission of the offense, Hearn will have to spend half of the sentence, or three and one-half years, in custody before he can be considered eligible for parole.

Aggravated robbery is a first degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from five to 99 years to life in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.

Flynn does not yet have a trial date set. An interim hearing concerning Flynn’s case is scheduled for July 31.
