Police say that it does not appear that any other individuals were involved.

UPDATE 1:48 p.m. — A shooting incident that occurred Friday morning in the middle of a Royse City residential street left a man dead and a woman in critical condition.Officers at the scene of the shooting – the 400 block of Cookston Lane – said the woman was still alive when she was transported from the scene by ambulance to a Dallas hospital, but the male was pronounced dead on the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Police Chief Jeff Stapleton said names of the victims – a husband and wife – could not be released until next-of-kin had been notified. He said the couple had a 10-year-old daughter who was at school when the shooting occurred.
