Two enter not guilty pleas in K2 case

GREENVILLE — A local resident and a Dallas County man have pleaded not guilty to multiple charges alleging they possessed and/or sold K2 in Campbell last year.

Sukhwinder Singh, 48, of Greenville and Parvinder Singh Sidhu, 40, of Irving, were indicted by the Hunt County grand jury last month in connection with the alleged sales of the synthetic drug one year ago.

Singh received one indictment for the manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, between four and 400 grams and one indictment for the manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, between one and four grams.

Sidhu received one indictment for the manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, between four and 400 grams.

The pair entered not guilty pleas to all of the counts during an arraignment hearing Friday in the 354th District Court. Judge Richard A. Beacom accepted the pleas and set a tentative trial date for June 2.

The indictments allege the pair acted together to sell the drug at the Campbell Store on Highway 50 on Feb. 26 2013, while Singh was also alleged to have sold the substance on Jan. 5, 2013.

Singh was arrested by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office at the store on Feb. 26, 2013. At that time, Sheriff Randy Meeks said several bags of what appeared to be K2, items used to smoke the drug and currency were seized by authorities. Meeks explained the search warrant served on the store and Singh’s arrest were the result of an undercover operation by the sheriff’s office.
