City Council votes to approve a recreation/event center

GREENVILLE — After a long night of discussion and deliberation, the Greenville City Council voted 4-2 Tuesday to proceed with the creation of a $15 million recoreation/event center.

The actual sale of the bonds for the project, as well as a decision whether to allow the YMCA to operate the facility, will be the subject of votes as future meetings.
